Review of Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) by Yash B — 07 Jul 2018
Marvel's "Ant-Man and the Wasp" is pure lighthearted fun. It is a nice movie that both answers questions relating to "Infinity War" but has a nice pleasant tone that is a nice change of pace after the emotionally heavy events of that film.
Everything I enjoyed about the first "Ant-Man," I enjoyed here. The humor, the characters, and the great visual style. While the villain in the movie is not particularly memorable, I did think they had a strong and understandable motive.
The movie is overall better than the first one because it has a better grip on the pacing and delivers stronger action scenes. I did think some of the jokes were slightly weak and some felt out of place, but for the most part, I was laughing consistently.
I also thought the movie has almost too much going on and the plot felt a bit overstuffed. Despite a few minor flaws, this movie is a fast-paced and fun entry in the MCU that is a great time at the movies.
