Review of Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) by Jv T — 10 Jul 2018
While Avengers: Infinity War had tons of humorous moments, it ended on a powerfully grim note that will continue to resonate until its conclusion next year. Ant-Man and the Wasp is the breath of fresh air after all that heaviness.
It's a hilarious and wild romp anchored by Paul Rudd's likability and Evangeline Lilly's coolness.Like Deadpool 2, the stakes are may feel small but they are personal. It's more a suspenseful quest with antagonists and obstacles that complicate things than the standard good vs evil struggle, making it distinct from the usual superhero fare.
The supporting cast is comedically terrific and the special effects action is amazingly cool. As usual, this rocks on IMAX 3D and stay until the end credits. Big things do come in small packages!
