Review of Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) by Davrosdaleks1 — 06 Jul 2018
I liked this better than the first one. I found the plot to be better structured. Very funny throughout. Yeah, it might not have had quite the emotional gravitas as some previous Marvel films, but it was nice to see them doing something light and breezy that just entertains. However, I do admit that the film is a little longer than it needed to be, what with large portions of the plot just being action and gags.
Cast and characters remain great. (But who doesn't like Paul Rudd?) New characters here are equally fun. They really solved the muddled villain problem from the last film. This one includes two solid villains, one humorous and one sympathetic.
The film looks great, very colorful. All the shrinking, Ghost's phasing, and quantum realm effects really make this look like a comic book film. It was refreshing to see them still be creative with all the shrinking.
Especially after Infinity War, it's nice to have a fun, lightweight film the family can enjoy.
