Review of Ant-Man (2015) by Matthew L — 26 Jun 2018
A unique marvel hero that many thought would be a failure turned into one of my favorite marvel movies. Yes, ant-man does have some major plot holes in terms of the consistency of the science, and, yes, there are some cliché and cheesy moments that bog down some dramatic moments.
However, this movie delivers big time in laughs and I think even bigger in heart. Underneath the exciting heist film is a theme about family and second chances on being a good dad. The story is a lot of fun, the characters are hilarious from Paul Rudd's Ant-man to Michael Pena's Luis.
Also don't forget Christoph Beck's terrific mission: impossible type score that adds so much to the film. The villain is meh. He isn't a bad villain but he is very cliché and cheesy at times just like the movie.
But as a whole the tiny hero delivers big on laughs, big on heart, and big on excitement. This is a great heist film and a touching story about fatherhood.
