Review of Ant-Man (2015) by Thaddaeus D — 01 Mar 2016
With this and Deadpool, Marvel's last two films have been noticeably different to their previous efforts.
They really seem to be bulking out their anti-hero ranks, increasing the humour, and generally making the characters more relatable. All good.
Ant-Man feels like it was made for TV to start with, and I struggled with it early on. It does pick up though, and some of the later action sequences are jaw-dropping. Paul Rudd is excellent, and Marvel have generally done a good job of bringing one of their weirder heroes to the big screen.
It works, but it's different. Give it a try.
