A pretty big deal.

Ant-Man in one word is "fANTastic", it filled with action, developed characters, heart, and the best comedy of 2015. Everyone in the cast kills it, and it's clear that they're all having a great time. And even though Edgar Wright is gone, Reed managed to keep some of his ideas in place.

Ant-Man is the most grounded marvel movie since 2008's Iron Man, and that says a lot considering the power is pretty ridiculous. They acknowledge that and make it work. One thing to love about the film is that they focus on its characters. Relationships are developed throughout the film so that the audience actually cares for the protagonists. Even the villain department, which isn't that great when it comes to marvel movies, is satisfying and serviceable, getting more screen time than most in Marvel's roster. All the performances are in the top of their game, Rudd, Douglas, Stoll, Lily are fantastic in their roles, but who really steals the show is Michael Pena. He is a absolute revelation and is gold in every scene he is in. In fact his whole presence was the best part of the movie. He is also the reason why this film is the best comedy of 2015. The writing and direction is also great, with organic transitions when there are cameos of other characters in the MCU.

As for negatives, the film's pacing is off and is slow for the first 20 minutes. But it of course gets better as it goes. Some scenes were shot awkwardly also, but overall this was another hit for Marvel.

With a slow first act, Ant Man gets better as it goes. With developed characters, awesome comedy, unique action sequences, good writing and direction, Ant Man is another highlight in Marvel's roster.
