Review of Ant-Man (2015) by Sean J — 20 May 2016

Finally got around to seeing this. They give appropriate homage to Ant-man, who is actually a really awesome superhero, despite how silly it may sound from the outside looking in. They did mess with who Yellow Jacket is (in the comics it was typically Hank Pym himself), but whatever. These are comics, things change all the time. Paul Rudd was great. Michael Douglas was great. Evangeline Lilly was great. Michael Pena was hilarious (I love him by the way).

I did feel like the villain was very forgettable, however. I don't think it was really the character, but rather the actor - I just didn't really buy him all that much. Mickey Rourke's character was much better in Iron Man 2 - and he is my least favorite of the MCU villains thus far, so that's saying something. Here's to hoping that the next villain is a bit more exciting, but this was a good movie regardless.

Did I mention how cool the scenes were when ant-man was little? Awesome.
