Review of Ant-Man (2015) by Justin D — 23 Apr 2016
The reviews failed me here. I thought I would like this as it has solid reviews, a great cast and I generally like anything from the Marvel universe, but this movie didn't deliver. It was predictable, and asked the viewer to be too forgiving of the plot holes.
The acting felt forced and overall I am left a little bored and totally underwhelmed. The final scene sets us up for a sequel where the Ant-Man will meet his new girlfriend who now has her upgraded flying ant suit and they will take on the Avengers together.
She will always remain one step ahead of him due to her upgrades but he will spend a great deal of the movie trying to level the playing field. The foreshadowing ends there but I'll bet that there will be some threat to the world, the Ant-people and the Avengers will set aside their differences and unite to save the world, and I'm guessing that Ant-Girl's long-lost mother will be saved/revealed in the process.
If the sequel is on par with this film, don't waste your time!
