Review of Ant-Man (2015) by Maximus G — 10 Jul 2016
I know many who were disappointed by this movie, but this movie really surprised me. Rudd has also been a super goofy, character actor from what I'm seen, but rarely falls flat. I still had my doubts about him as a superhero after hearing about this movie given his resume and age (but Jesus Christ, does he still look the same after all these years!).
I was surprised, I thought this movie did many things right, I thought it was a well-paced, well-rounded enjoyable experience. Michael Douglas was great, Evangeline Lilly was great (but I don't know, seeing how attractive and young she looked in Lost and how she looked her supposed to still be a super young attractive 'daughter' did bug me, no pun intended, and please don't think I'm being sexist or mean, I just would've cast someone else) and the villain was menacing enough and was great.
There's really not much else you can say, other than that I seemed to enjoy watching this in its entirety than say.. Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Just a simpler plot and more relatable characters and it just made more sense.
I liked it a lot.
