Mike Leigh's Another Year is a realistic, joyfull and dreadful drama picture. It's the story about the old joyfull couple Tom and Gerri Hepple (Jim Broadbent and Ruth Sheen). Due to their age, they are both active workers, and also have a comfortable relazing state of mind, working on their own garden. They also has a wide rage of old friends and family that comes and visits very often. Specialy one old friend named Mary (Lesley Manville) who is contantly visiting them and some times sleeps over, this can make her really enoying from time to time. We follow them all durring one year in all four seasons of another year.

Another Year is a great movie with great characters, but there's this Mary character that as both Tom and Gerri finds really enoying, and I really mean enoying, so enoying that it gives me a real headache. But we also see a less enoting side of her, and some times even feels sorry for her. That's a sign of a good actor, one that can make me feel real strong emotions towards her, even if it means bad once. Thumbs Up.
