Review of Another Happy Day (2011) by Céline D — 18 Jul 2012
Going into this I thought to be just another mediocre ensemble vehicle for veteran actors, but no - I was very mistaken. This was very funny script with some damn good acting. I've never seen such a great performance by Ellen Barkin (who also produced) playing a completely neurotic bitter ex-wife consumed with self-pity.
Her ultra-high anxiety has rubbed off on her kids who all have issues. The addict son, Ezra Miller, was hilarious and was a major contributor this film's success. Yes, perhaps it's another dysfunctional family play with a wedding backdrop but this is a totally unique one.
I won't go on to any more details concerning the other great character performances or or bore you with story detail, just trust my recommendation and rent this film. You're in for a major two hour treat of fine entertainment.
