Review of Another Earth (2011) by Gerardo F — 19 Jan 2012
Another Earth is a film that finds itself somewhere between a heartfelt drama about redemption and a self-indulgent hipster art house film. Ultimately what held it together for me was Brit Marling, who brings a genuine emotional intensity to the film, though she isn't utilized to her full potential by the weak script.
The sci-fi aspect of the film is interesting, but severely underdeveloped, making it a more effective drama than a sci-fi entry.
