Review of Another Earth (2011) by Andrei D — 12 Feb 2012
Philosophical "what if" tale that gets too weighed down by its own drama to ever really get off the ground. If you were expecting an amazing sci-fi story about the discovery of a duplicate planet Earth, don't bother.
The entire "Earth 2" storyline is a secondary subplot, and is not the focus of the film at all. Instead be prepared to follow the life of a very strange young woman as she attempts to put her life together after spending 4 years in jail.
However, despite that, I can say that the film is very thought provoking, and definitely different than most other films.
