An interesting idea, but in the end (and especially the ending) I think it was just too weak in its execution. I give it a B-minus, "Could try harder." It's unfair to compare it to the much better Melancholia, which came out a few months earlier.
No, not unfair just unfortunate: in any other year this film might have seemed a lot stronger.
