The handheld style was kind of cool at first, but got very grating after a while. The constant zoom-ins were unnecessary a lot of the time, and just distracted me from the overall film. The film wants to balance two things: melodrama and science fiction.
The two do not mix well at all in this picture. The science fiction aspect was unnecessary and would not have hindered the film if it had been completely edited out of the film. The "twist" ending is not at all satisfying, and just looks lazy.
Skip this movie. Awful.
