Review of Another Earth (2011) by Trailesque — 17 Sep 2017
A low-budget indie that mixes emotional drama with science fiction elements. It is interesting how they reveal things a little at a time - you don't really know what is going on until a half hour into the film, but Brit Marling draws you in and holds you there.
(SPOILER ALERT) She plays a promising young girl, on the verge of college, who ruins her life (and some other people's) in a DWI car crash. She sets out to try to make amends, and simultaneously another planet Earth appears in the heavens, a doppelganger to our world.
Some irritating camera work aside, this is a cool little film.
