Review of Another Earth (2011) by Jay M — 12 Jul 2012
Picked this because of the cover photo. Shallow I know but I'm a sucker for blondes in sci-Fi and truthfully thought it would be more about the trip. Although my wife did not make it 15 minutes before checking out, I stuck in there and was pleasantly surprised with the way the story pulled me along.
What did it for me: the suspense of not knowing if or when she was going to spill the beans. Being a parent I could feel the tragedy for the victim, but at the same time the despair felt by the intelligent and formerly reckless teenager. Talk about growing up fast.
How could you forgive yourself if you inflicted such misery on another person? How could you forgive the criminal who ripped your life apart?
