Review of Another Earth (2011) by William R — 14 Jan 2012
Another Earth is an underrated gem. The science fiction aspect is a MacGuffin that serves to enhance the themes of the film. One can criticize it for its lack of realism, such as the tides not changing or for its potential plot hole at the very end, but I don't find these flaws to be too distracting.
Brit Marling, who is the star and co-writer, delivers one of the best performances of the year. She's talented, beautiful, and intelligent. I expect she will be a major star in the near future.
