Review of Anonymous (2011) by J-L C — 11 Nov 2011

From most of what I have read the scholarship behind the film's conspiracy theory is completely debunked, but the movie is still pretty entertaining (the theory being that Shakespeare did not write his plays, but was merely an opportunistic actor taking credit for a nobleman who could not be associated with the common and secular theater).

Well acted, fairly tense and the occasional humorous moment. They probably had more opportunities to play for laughs, but took the serious play most of the time. In sum it's a rental.
