Review of Anonymous (2011) by Rostek P — 21 Jan 2012
Entertaining fictional history asking the question: what if Shakespeare didn't really write all those plays? Well, it doesn't have any great alternative theory. In fact, the film becomes preoccupied by political intrigue and the battle to succeed Queen Elizabeth I.
But even though the central question is used more or less as an excuse to put on a show, it is fun to watch for the most part. That is because the actors make it enjoyable, it moves along at a reasonable pace and it's just great to look at.
If you like period dramas, it's worth a viewing.
