Very impressive! This movie was quite wonderful. The characters which were based on real people were beautifully written and portrayed (though I have no idea whether or not they were accurate). I especially loved all three generations of the Earl of Oxford (Rhys Ifans, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Luke Thomas Taylor). They were brilliant! As well the two lovely ladies who played Queen Elizabeth were a pleasure to watch. The set and/or setting of this film was simply beautiful. Furthermore, the way that the story was layed out was very smart. Both the beginning and the closing scenes gave me chills. Yes, there were some times when I was a little bit uncertain as to what was happening (politically speaking), but for the most part that wasn't the case. Honestly though, some of the best scenes were the ones that actually incorperated the timeless verses of Shakespeare that we have all come to know. I know that there are at least 2 scenes in this movie that will stay with me for a long time. The combination of good actors, beautiful visual appeal, and a well-written script (and use of Shakespeare's prose) made for a movie that was both entertaining and interesting. Whether or not it is true, we'll probably never know. Perhaps that's a part of the magic of it all.

I look forward to owning this one day and probably watching it again (or at least replaying certain scenes).

What did this movie teach me? Quoting Shakespeare during a love scene can actually be really sexy.
