I enjoyed this movie immensely. If you are looking for exact historical accuracy, it will probably not be your cup of tea. But, if you want to watch a film with breathtaking sets, costumes, and a story line that reminds the viewer of why Shakespeare's works are some of the most touching and compelling human stories of all time, then Anonymous will be as enjoyable for you as it was for me.

I feel like those viewer's who concentrated so heavily on the question of who actually wrote his works missed the over all theme and message of the movie. Though the movie does follow a somewhat popular theory that Shakespeare himself did not right the volume of work attributed him, the main theme is based around the works themselves, and how they have the power to influence not only the people who read and view them, but politics also.

Anonymous is a great work of fiction that will leave you with a picture of just how human we all are, and how the works of one very special man can touch us all, regardless of who that man really was.
