Review of Anonymous (2011) by Joshua N — 20 Mar 2012
This seems to get a bad rap by most, but I for one rather enjoyed it. It does start off slow and is hard to follow in the beginning with the flashbacks and keeping the characters straight. But once it gets rolling I found it to be rather entertaining and interesting.
Though a fictional story, one cant help but wonder if maybe something like this could have happened. Was Shakespeare a fraud? Who knows, though I have no reason to think he was even after seeing this.
Part of what makes this interesting as well is how parts of Shakespeare's plays can be found in it within the characters lives and not just on the stage being acted out. The acting I found to be good, not the greatest but decent enough that it didnt bother me.
Bottom line is I think its worth checking out.
