Review of Anonymous (2011) by Erika B — 04 Jun 2012
This is a film unfairly judged due only to its attempt at authenticity. Orloff is not naive to the controversy, in fact that is most likely the singular basis for this film coming into existence. Therefore we can only look at its historical value in how the mise-en-scene is created.
Personally I believe the world to be dark and inviting, much like the plot attempts to be. All in all this movie has a quick enough pace and strong actors who propel this into an interesting portrait of the world of theatre in the early 17th century.
