Review of Anonymous (2011) by Sean T — 17 Nov 2011
This movie seems to have tanked at the box office but I don't really see why. The movie is well paced and really gets you thinking. The only problem I had with it was that it seemed like you were forced to get to know the characters in two separate time frames played by different actors which got a little confusing at times as you tried to keep names and faces together.
The acting was very well done and it delivered in the way it was supposed to. It made you uncomfortable. They succeed in turning any assumptions you had of that time and turning them on their head. You have to understand that time to understand that some of the femininity in men was normal for that era.
That could make some people uncomfortable as well. All in all I think this was a very good movie that will most likely be up for some awards down the line.
