Daily life is monotonous. 'Anomalisa' exemplifies this, but it does so by making the film itself monotonous. It's like when a character in a movie is supposed to be annoying. You want him to be annoying to the other characters, but when that character annoys the audience as well, it's hard to sit through.
That sums up this movie. I never wanted to watch a stop-motion version of a guy trying to order room service and get laid. Maybe I'm missing how clever that is or something, but it's just dull.
