If we are to assume that films are enjoyable because of our ability to relate to them than Anomalisa is a sad sad film. In addition the rather disturbing claymation sex scene, Anomalisa has a chillingly depressing understanding of love.
As soon as Michael cannot hear Lisa's voice anymore he looses all hope. He doesn't fight for love he just gives up. It's a sad reality that we live in a world so unaware of what sacrificial love looks like.
