Review of Anomalisa (2015) by Sultan A — 01 Jan 2016
Infused with utter majesty, as well as impressive stop-motion animation, Anomalisa genuinely captivates with it's sheerly undisputed depth, as well as it's incomprehensibly enthralling themes. â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â- The masterful director is aided by the three stars within the film, voice acting splendidly as the two main characters, as well as the entirety of the supporting ones, the latter of whom are voiced by Tom Noonan.
Burwell's terrific score assists the director, as well, with it's evocativeness, as well as rapture. â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â- Charlie Kaufman successfully mesmerizes his audience through his impeccably conducted story, permeated with unnaturally powerful redolence, enabling the film to send it's message with utmost rigor - which, at the same time, allows the magnificent director's thoughts flow through his viewer's veins, evoking feelings of rapture, dejection, as well as realization.
The film's denouement, depicting Michael finally losing the voice that he hears when Lisa speaks - representative of Michael's world's glamorization, as if he could never leave, simply because he's been there for quite some time, as the many humans depicted in the film are with their mundanities, as well as, if analyzed, monochrome proceedings - serves as the final redolent touch, showing true spectacularity within Kaufman's artistic style.
â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â-â- Establishing it's eternal mark as one of the greatest films of the entire year, Anomalisa...well, you'll see what it does to you.
