This movie incorporated a lot of interesting science fiction ideas. I tend to like movies that explore metaphysical and psychological questions, as this one does with ambition. In fact, it is a little too ambitious with the clever ideas and doesn't quite wrap things together at the end to my satisfaction, but it was still fun to watch and then debate in the car on way home.
The complete lack of realistic planning by the characters or alleged "organization" investigating the mysterious shimmer was a big flaw. Strong performances and beautiful cinematography.
