I try to give film adaptations of books a fair chance, but this one really missed the mark. If you have to cut major plot points and scenes out because they "are not filmable" then maybe you shouldn't film at all.
A gripping and beautifully written horror / sci-fi novel became an utter mess in translation to the big screen. Not a surprise in a time where original films are a rarity.
