Review of Annie Hall (1977) by Johnny B — 06 Jul 2012
I had recently watched this film out of the blue one day. It had been awhile since I sat through a movie start to finish, so I popped this and let the nostalgia of my film-loving days sink in. What gets me crazy about this film is how genuine it feels.
Sure all the characters are quirky and slightly over-exaggerated, but it all mixes well with the overall feel of the film. There's definitely a chemistry between Keaton and Allen, but not the kind you'd expect from most romantic comedies.
You almost question how the two could be together considering they're so different, but at the same time when you look at them share a moment together, you know how these characters feel. This is by far one of my favorite films ever made, and I believe it's extremely culturally significant.
