Woody Allen's Oscar winning classic didn't dig deep into me like it has for others, but that can't affect my review of the film at all. Annie Hall is about a neurotic comedian named Alvy who is obsessed with his past love Annie.

The film shows the ups and downs of their relationship and how things don't always work out for the best and that we don't always see the good in things we view as bad. Alvy continuously uses his pessimistic view on the world around him to avoid doing things like interacting with girls and social groups and this causes people to get kinda upset with him, especially Annie.

The stars of the film, Allen and Keaton, were fantastic characters that made the story fun and interesting. Annie is very eccentric and goofy but given that these two are very similar, in the end couldn't feel more different.

It perfectly shows how not everything is meant to be and that we all can't have a happy ending like we want, which Alvy represents in his play in the last minutes. The story is a believable take on relationships and how they don't end up well on all occasion and I thought that aspect of it was great.

The editing in the movie made it kind of hard to keep up as to where this took place given the unusual style of storytelling. I really liked the quirky narration and storytelling but sometimes it would just hop to one scene in the middle of dialogue.

I thought the complete ending to the movie was really sweet the way that we all need to appreciate the people we are with and the relationship we have. The best words to describe Annie Hall are quirky, funny, believable, and sweet.

I can see how this movie became such a classic because of the style of filming was so new to that time and that's what made it what it is. B.
