Review of Annie Hall (1977) by Ian R — 12 Feb 2011
Nothing short of a masterpiece. Woody Allen's magnum opus, the delightful Annie Hall is a story of love- the good, the bad, the ugly, and the sure-as-hell funny. Allen is a man who has become an inspiration for me and whatever dreams I may have in comedy and writing.
The guys stand-up material has revolved around his masterful storytelling, and Annie Hall may be the greatest story he has ever told. Thats why I love it so much. It could very well be considered a set-up to some great punch-line.
But its not some cliched knee-slapper. Its a beautiful message.
