Review of Annie Hall (1977) by Liam M — 28 Dec 2011
Woodie Allen is spot on in one of the director's best films, both writing and acting to perfection. The story telling is a bit sloppy (you'll understand what I mean if you watch the movie), but in typical Allen fashion it works well.
Annie Hall takes a intricate look at the core of human relationships, revolving around Alvy Singer's (Allen) and Annie Hall (Keaton) budding romance. The movie is brilliantly witty and instantly relate-able, and the scenes play out with such believability (lets pretend that's a word), and the dialogue is top notch.
This movie is as fantastic and mesmerizing as it was when it was released over 30 years ago, and its absolutely a must see for anyone who enjoys serious romance films or Woodie Allen.
