Review of Annie Hall (1977) by Kim B — 10 Oct 2012
A quirky romance comedy about a couple getting together and then falling apart. Tragically sad break up not in an uber depressing star crossed lovers way, but that way that some ppl just are not meant to be, yet their relationship wasn't horrible or something unforgivable didnt happen.
I think most people can relate to that. Allen was funny in both his keen observations, cynicism, and pop culture references. I love the smart dialogue and the unique directing style where the other characters can't hear what he's saying etc.
.. He does sometimes seem to go on random tangents, but overall a good story. The ending song was so perfectly fitting and beautiful and sad.
