This movie would have been so much better with out the songs. (And I am a musical fan and an Annie fan). To me, the musical numbers did fit with the rest of the film and were very distracting. Where the music worked was when notable songs were played as background music to the acting.
Take away the bad remixes and the movie was extremely cute. I enjoyed the story updates, Quvenzhané Wallis did a great job. I just feel that it had the potential to be so much better than it was.
