Review of Annie (2014) by Michael M — 19 May 2015
As a remake, the last thing you want viewers to do is lament the fact that they aren't watching the original...unfortunately, that happened here. Trading in spunky for cutesy, the story doesn't change enough positively to warrant existence.
However, it's not a total wash: Diaz is surprisingly funny and the great original numbers mostly shine through the modern style and bad choreography well enough.
