I think I'm going to like it here.

Annie is a young, red-headed orphan with hopes and dream like every kid in her orphanage. One day a woman comes along and asks to temporarily adopt a 7 or 8 year old red headed child. The orphanage reluctantly allows the woman to adopt Annie. Annie is whisked away to an amazing estate where all her dreams come true and they even indirectly help her discover the truth about her parents. Will Annie's orphan dreams come true or after it is all said and done will she return to the orphanage?

"She's going to send him to the sausage factory.".

John Huston, director of The Treasure of Sierra Madre, The African Queen, Maltese Falcon, Moulin Rouge (1952), The Asphalt Jungle, Key Largo, and The Night of the Iguana, delivers Annie. The storyline for this picture is very well done and contains a nice blend of musical numbers and a great plot points. The settings were also well done as the acting was spot on. The cast includes Albert Finney, Tim Curry, Carol Burnett, Aileen Quinn, Geoffrey Holder, and Bernadette Peters.

"Why any kid would want to be an orphan is beyond me.".

With the recent numerous previews for Annie I decided to give this old John Huston gem a viewing off Netflix. The film is very entertaining and definitely a timeless tale. This version of the movie holds up so well and is perfectly delivered. This is a classic and borderline worth adding to your DVD collection.

"It's a hard-knock life, for us.".
