Review of Annabelle: Creation (2017) by Jon C — 24 Aug 2017
Appropriately creepy, moves at a brisk pace, and totally makes up for the failure of the previous 'Annabelle' film.
This one has plenty of jolts and scary images for the horror fanatic.
A sad opening paves the way for the horrors to come when girls from an orphanage go to stay with a couple.
The thing is this man and wife lost their daughter 12 years ago and it has a malevolent connection to this doll that sits in a locked room.
The true terror begins when a girl with polio stumbles upon it and the demonic presence starts unleashing its wrath upon them.
This film has great use of the dark shadows, the deserted farm setting, and always cutting back and forth between the doll and the dark entity surrounding it.
The actors who play the parents are sadly wasted and not given much to do so the girls are the really the main players here.
And the ending perfectly ties into what transpired in the previous film with a nice tidbit.
This is a horror film worth the wait.
