Review of Annabelle: Creation (2017) by Anthony S — 14 Aug 2017
Much better than the 1st Annabelle sequel, but not as good as the 2 Conjuring movies. The premise and foundation were built well into this 4th movie. Some nice jumps and unexpected scares in the 1st half of the movie, while the 2nd half of the film was more driven by suspense and drama instead of sudden scares. Quite a few of of the scene sets were well-done and the overall storyline had good pacing and flow with some subtle twists.
The acting of each of the of the roles was admirable, with no particular standouts. Although this was a satisfying horror movie sequel overall, I expected it to be a bit scarier with more sudden "jump out of your seat" thrills. The ending clearly left open the planning of a continuing story sequel, so I will be looking forward to the follow up movie to "Annabelle: Creation".
