Review of Anna Karenina (2012) by Antti Q — 09 Feb 2013

Disappointing, I saw a version of this with Sophie Marceau and Sean Bean, and had hoped that this would better it, but it did not.

The use of the stage/theatre setting at times, was distracting to the storyline, and I felt it was slightly jumpy in moving between sequences at the start.

I wanted this film to be so much better in expressing the tragic love story that is Anna's, but this failed, with Keira Knightly just not quite pulling it off.

Glad I did not pay to see this at a cinema, I would have been annoyed if I had.
