Review of Anna Karenina (2012) by Deanna B — 30 Mar 2013
What do you get when you put one of the greatest stories of all-time in the hands of hipster filmmakers? A disaster. They tried to be way too cute with the choreography, especially during the synchronized peasant thrashing wheat and theater scenes.
As my kid sister later said, Jude Law and the music were the lone bright spots. Oh, and the costumes were good. Luckily it's Anna K, so they can just wait five to ten years until another director tries his/her hand at it.
