Review of Anna Karenina (2012) by Mary S — 03 Oct 2013
I wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. Scenes in a play open seamlessly into cornfields, closing one door opens another, a horse stumbles mid-race and crashes through the footlights of a stage - the whole has a dreamlike quality that I loved.
Keira Knightley is not expected to do anything other than look pretty, but Jude Law's emotional repression is convincing and I loved Domhnall Leeson's sweet, shy Levin. I'll watch this one again.
