Review of Anna Karenina (2012) by Rene J — 26 Jun 2015
I never liked Anna Karenina as a character. Always thought she was just a clingy, jealous s...t who killed herself to just make her lover feel bad. I never liked Keira Knightley either. I thought it was impossible to make anyone (who already hated Anna) hate her more.
Knightley's portrayal (especially her outburst during the horse race) proved me wrong. The movie is ok and oh the feeling of satisfaction while that train approached the heroine was incomparable to anything I have ever experienced while watching a movie.
Even the reactions to deaths of most twisted villains in movie history were marked with some kind of a pity but not this time. Just pure joy.
