Review of Anna Karenina (2012) by Rafael K — 14 Apr 2013
I couldn't decide whether this was a homage to it's stage production origins (with it's purposely obvious stage props and scene cues) or a real world motion picture... which is a shame as there would have been some beautiful scenery shots to go with the wonderful array of costumes if they had just gone for the latter.
Whilst being a Keira Knightly fan, I looked forward to the "final act" of this movie with a tinge of glee as Anna had developed into a whining, nonsensical mess. I don't remember the last time I felt less sympathetic to the main character at the end of the film.
