I expected not to enjoy watching this especially within such an over saturated genre. Anna is a well made film with memorable sequences in particular assassinations we are often shown the stages of preparation and execution for anna's targets... Great stuff! The story is the weakest element here with little reason up on the screen for the audience to share Anna's motivations. At times the film seems unsure whether to take itself seriously often bordering on becoming a full blown comic book style action film rather than the thriller it also tries to be. As a result the pacing feels all over the place so its rather a bumpy ride which makes the movie seem longer than it actually is.
