Review of Animal Kingdom (2010) by Scott G — 01 Mar 2011

A film that tells a tale of a family of criminals, and using the backdrop of the local robbery division going beyond there given methods to deal with crooks, but stepping away from that as main focus and concentrating mainly on the family, a film that certainly could delve deeper certainly on the cops viewpoint, but takes nothing away from film in hand, all performances are on top form, and some uncomfortable moments of unsuspected violence, the film has a raw energy towards it, and the story takes us places.

many faces pop up who are unknown but if youve seen enough aussie cinema they will seem familier, and guy pierce doing a great turn as a detective who isnt one of the bad ones. a great showcase continuing the australian filmmaking tradition.
