Animal Kingdom is easily one of the best Australian films of recent times and while some people may think the Australian Film Industry is dead, Animal Kingdom proves all these people wrong. Animal Kingdom benefits from such great performances from it's cast.
Jacki Weaver may have been the only actor to receive international recognition for this movie, she is still in good company. The rest of the cast puts in a great effort. I will acknowledge that this film isn't really for everyone.
Animal Kingdom really is a movie that you have to give all your attention to or else you may wind up getting lost but if you do give all your attention to it, you will be rewarded and be hooked straight from the beginning.
The plot is interesting and works well to make an excellent dark crime thriller. Animal Kingdom is a work of art and reliable proof that Australian movies aren't so terrible.
