Not quite as strong a film as its critical reputation would suggest. Gets better as it (slowly) moves along, but hardly suspenseful or even poignant given crime dramas like the recent and superior The Town.
Weaver is creepy but hardly deserving of an Oscar nomination. Guy Pearce blends nicely into the background like sturdy glazed furniture.
