Review of Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (2008) by Kate . — 29 Dec 2008
Georgia is an ordinary 14 year old girl who's world revolves around her friends, her reputation and of course boys. When 'Sex-God' Robbie and his brother move in to town, together with her best friends Georgia plans to make him notice her, but her good-hearted attempts often turn in to thoughtless moments of embarrassment.
Filled with the most randy 14 year olds I have ever seen, 'Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging' is an enjoyable if slightly predictable rom-com. What it lacks in originality however, it makes up for in decent laughs, a very enjoyable set of characters and also tonnes of heart and well-meaning.
It aims to challenge certain stereotypes and promote good self-esteem, it could almost be described as the teenager's version of 'Bridget Jones' Diary'. With it's fun-filled storylines and a mixture of witty dialogue and an excellent soundtrack, 'Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging' is sure to please any teenage girl.
Not Bad.
